Galanti Grand Prix 3002 Red Burst 1965

Galanti Grand Prix, made in Italy 1965, red burst finish. Galanti was a family business based in Mondaino near the Adriatic coast of Italy, initially specialising in accordions with a flagship model called the Super Dominator. With the rock and roll boom of the 50s and 60s, they added organs, keyboards and electric guitars to the mix. This dates to the mid 60s, and mamma mia it's awesome. The offset body, lightning bolt guard, big gold knobs, oversize inlays and quirky vibrato bridge give this a super slick look. The body is solid mahogany and the neck is is great order; this was handmade with a lot of care and flair. The pickups are a mini humbucker, and deliver and articulate, smooth growl. This example spent time in theĀ  hands of notable Australian indie darlings The Cruel Sea and post-punk/new wavers Do-Re-Mi before landing with us. I really like this one, its got a lot of panache.Ā
