Cool Z ZJB-1R Vintage White 2011
Cool Z ZJB-1R, vintage white, made in Japan 2011. I'm a big fan of these, they represent outstanding value and are super fun to play. Cool Z is a house brand for major Japanese instrument chain Shimamura, who have stores all over Japan. They're made at the famed Fujigen Gakki plant, the very same factory that made all those famous Fender Japan guitars from 1982-96 as well as producing Ibanez Prestige and other high end instruments to this day. This is their take on the classic 60s style Jazz Bass: slim neck, offset body, two single coils, all class. The neck is super comfy in the hands, carved to a slim quick shape from some very classy tightly grained maple and dark Indian rosewood. The 'Circle Fretting System' means the frets are very slightly curved, improving intonation and sustain, which is cool. Sound-wise, it delivers: fast and snappy on the attack, assured tuneful lows and an enjoyable rasp and growl through the mids when you dig in. The creamy finish looks great, it will fit in anywhere. This will deliver the goods night after night.

The back has dimples along the belly carve and elbow area. The sides have dimples in the elbow area and back edge and some dents near the jack. The front has dimples around the bridge and elbow area and some play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing Condition Notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
